Oymyakon, Russia, is the coldest inhabited place on Earth
Yakutia's Oymyakon Valley - or the Pole of Cold - is located in northeastern Russia. Here, temperatures can reach -70℃ - so cold that even alcohol freezes.
With few modern amenities available, this seemingly uninhabitable village is home to 500 Siberians with traditional occupations such as reindeer herding, hunting and fishing.
Tourism has also become popular among those who brave the harsh conditions.
